The Pleasant Lake Protective Association (PLPA) works to keep Pleasant Lake clean, safe, and healthy. As an active local nonprofit, they keep lake residents informed year round.

The Challenge

Their old WordPress site was slow, hard for volunteers to update, and required constant security updates. They needed a faster, more secure site, a streamlined donation setup, and a way to display their regular newsletters without spending hours uploading PDFs manually.

Our Solution

• WordPress to Static Migration: Migrated all content to a static site build using Astro. This made page loads instant and eliminated WordPress security risks entirely.
• Automated Newsletter Archive: Built a pipeline that automatically imports and publishes their newsletters directly on the site, saving hours of manual data entry.
• Simple Donations: Redesigned their donation and membership forms, keeping supporters on site instead of redirecting them to a clunky third party page.
• Mobile Layout: Created a responsive design optimized for phones, so members can check water quality reports or news right from the boat.
